Outstanding Businesses Honored with Biloxi Chamber Business Spotlight Award
October 4, Biloxi Chamber of Commerce awarded two outstanding businesses in the Biloxi Chamber service area with the Biloxi Chamber Business Spotlight Award for 3rd Quarter 2012. Klee Odom + Klee the Small Business of the 3rd Quarter Award and Boomtown Casino Biloxi awarded as Business of the of the 2nd Quarter Award. Awards were presented at Biloxi Chamber of Commerce’s Morning Call Breakfast.
Small Business of the 3rd Quarter, Klee Odom + Klee was formed in 2005 and our mission is to enhance the quality of life through better design; realizing aspirations and exceeding expectations. Klee Odom + Klee, PLLC was named one of the Coast’s fastest growing companies by The Journal of South Mississippi Business. KO+K is actively involved in community development and is a member of Biloxi Main Street. Donna Klee serves on the Design Committee and the Board of Directors for that organization. She also takes an active role in historic preservation and is a member of the Mississippi Heritage and Trust Foundation. Community service is important to KO+K and we strive to serve the entire Gulf Coast. We have participated in Kaboom playground construction and in Clean Our Scene in addition to many chamber fundraisers and support activities such as the Military Spouses Tour.
Business of the Month, Boomtown Casino Biloxi has been recognized for its continuous commitment to the building of the Coast, support of local businesses for products and construction, and the support of local non-profits. Boomtown is the Local’s Choice and tries to make decisions that support the local community that supports its business. Boomtown strongly believes in what the Chamber does and supports them in any way they possibly can. In the prior year, Boomtown gave donations and charitable contributions that exceeded $60,000 and they are on track to exceed that amount in the current year. In addition to the chamber other organizations Boomtown has supported over the last year are: March of Dimes, American Heart Association, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, Boys and Girls Clubs, Make-A-Wish, Boys Scouts of America, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Gulf Coast Symphony, Gulf Coast Carnival Association, Smokin’ the Sound, Boom Boom Committee, American Cancer Society, Humane Society of South Mississippi, Cruisin’ the Coast, Biloxi First, and many others. If there is one thing that Boomtown does well, it is providing customer service. Boomtown is a small property with a homey feel and once a person visits there, they are family.
Biloxi Chamber Business Spotlight recognizes Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce businesses in the Biloxi Chamber service area that make a difference in our community through: community development, chamber involvement and outstanding customer service. Nominations can be made at www.biloxi.org and must be received by the November 10, 2012, qualify for the 4th Quarter awards.
